Life Ledger (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is operated by Life Ledger, based in Alabama, USA. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information.
We built Life Ledger to be a private, judgment-free recovery companion. Privacy isn’t a feature we added on — it’s the foundation of how the app works.
We do not collect any personal information.
Life Ledger works entirely on your device. Any information you choose to enter — such as the names of people you add, amounts you pledge, wins you log, photos you save to your Memory Vault, your first name or nickname, and your PIN — is stored locally on your device only. This information is never transmitted to us or to anyone else, and we have no ability to access it.
Your information is saved in your device’s private app storage:
Because this data lives only on your device, deleting the app — or using the app’s “Erase Everything” option — permanently removes it.
Life Ledger includes an optional PIN lock and a privacy screen designed to keep the app private on a shared device. These features operate entirely on your device. We do not receive your PIN and cannot recover it; if you remove it, the app simply returns to its welcome setup.
If you choose to add a photo to your Memory Vault, the app will ask permission to access your photo library. The app only accesses the specific photo you select, and that photo stays on your device. The app does not scan, upload, or share your photos.
To be clear, Life Ledger does not:
The app provides links to outside support resources — such as the National Problem Gambling Helpline, Gamblers Anonymous, and SMART Recovery — and to certain financial institutions, plus buttons to call or text a helpline. When you tap these, your device connects you to those third parties (for example, opening your phone, messaging, or browser app). Those organizations operate independently and have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. We do not share any information with them.
Life Ledger is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Those platforms may collect information about downloads and usage according to their own privacy policies, which we do not control.
Life Ledger addresses gambling, an adult activity, and is intended for adults (18 and older). It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone. Because the app collects no information at all, this protection extends to everyone who uses it.
Your information is protected by your device’s own security and by the app’s optional PIN. No method of storage is perfectly secure, but because your data never leaves your device, it is never exposed to a server, a network breach, or a third party through us. Keeping your device locked and your PIN private is the best way to protect your information.
You are always in control of your information. Inside the app you can edit or remove individual entries, remove your PIN, or use “Erase Everything & Start Over” to permanently delete all of it. Uninstalling the app also deletes all of its data from your device.
Life Ledger provides educational and self-help tools. It is not medical, psychological, or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for professional care. If you are in crisis, call or text the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-522-4700, available 24/7.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and post the revised policy here.
